The four ancient elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water were the inspiration for a suite of large transparent pieces recently installed at Winzeler Gear's new facility in Harwood Heights. Each panel is about three by four feet and is fitted into an aluminum and glass grid that defines two walls in the new building. Backlit by neon tubing, the large Duratrans films each depict gears surrounded by one of the elements. Each is a combination of studio photography, location photography, pyrotechnic work and digital image manipulation.
