At the close of 1998, Global Telephony's Glenn Verde wanted to create a bolder look for the publication that was more direct and forceful, yet with a strong graphic look and a sense of humor. Here are five cover images created over the course of 1999, each taking a dry technical concept and giving it a face to beckon the reader in.
They are:
1) February 99: The wireless "killer app".
2) April 99: Winds of change--"Getting Ready for the 3G Force".
3) July 99: Intelligent Networks?...should be a "No-Brainer".
4) October 99: Network Technology incumbents and newcomers are starting to "share a new vision".
5) November 99: Network Planners are "finding themselves Sleepless".
