Schultes Precision Manufacturing has enjoyed a long history of satisfied customers. One of them, John Winzeler of Winzeler Gear, wanted to present Otto ("O.J.") Schultes with a gift for the the offices which would stand out among the many awards and memorabilia there. He had the idea of having photography commissioned of the many display items at the plant and combining those images into an "Absolut" poster.
A morning's shoot at the remarkable Buffalo Grove plant yielded photos of custom motorcycles, chrome exhaust headers, golf tees in anodized aluminum, and even the wheels of Otto's Lamborghini. Back at the studio, these items were tweaked and massaged into the classic Absolut bottle shape and given the iconic Futura type made famous by the Absolut Vodka campaign.
The final image was printed by John Cisco of Trillium Digital Imaging as a high resolution giclee output on heavy art stock. The piece was framed at Fred Eric's and presented to Mr. Schultes a few weeks later.
